As KnightGuard.Net continually requests your URL from your server, we're also timing how long it takes to retrieve that page. When you set up your URL to be monitored, you can also select the Monitoring Sensitivity. The monitoring sensitivity is the time allowed by you as an acceptable page retrieval time. If it takes longer than this time to retrieve the page, KnightGuard.Net will send out an alert.

When selecting Monitoring Sensitivity, KnightGuard.Net uses the following retrieval times:

Ultra - 3 Seconds
High - 5 Seconds
Medium - 15 Seconds
Low - 60 Seconds
None - Don't Care (999 seconds)

When thinking about page retrieval times, please bear in mind that KnightGuard.Net only retrieves the text on the page. No images or embeded multimedia files are downloaded. Because we're only downloading the page text, Ultra and High settings are suitable for most servers (in fact, most pages are retrieved in under one second). We provide Medium and Low settings to reduce false alarms for slower servers/network providers.

Free Trial users are not able to select Sensitivity, which defaults to 15 seconds.
