KnightGuard.Net User's Guide
Case Studies / Testimionials

Dear KG,

It was Tuesday when a customer called to complain that he could not reach our Web Site. I called our provider (a remote hosted, shared environment), who promised a status update shortly. The day was very busy, and time got away from me. By Wednesday, the provider had not gotten back to me (which sadly is typical of [this provider]). So another call Wednesday morning revealed the site had been down since Saturday! We were now out of business for over 3 days. I made the decision to move the site to another provider, which we were able to accomplish in 24 hours (DNS change included). But if I had known on Saturday that the site was down and contacted the provider, I could have saved 3 days of downtime - and 3 days of sales!

Now we use KnightGuard.Net to monitor all of our Web Sites. If there's a problem, I'm notified immdiately through my cellphone. And notification continues until I turn it off or the problem is corrected, so the issue stays foremost on my agenda. Occasionally I'll get an alert, only to find service is up and running when I check it out myself; but I'd rather get a false alarm than not hear when there is a real problem. And there have also been as many (if not more) times that there HAS BEEN a real problem. I very much like knowing about problems before everyone else; it puts me in the driver's seat.

I received your "marketing" message and remember thinking the service offering was pretty slick. I must be honest however as it didn't peak my curiosity until I received another message indicating my site was down! I went out to my site as soon as I received the message, and sure enough it was out of service! I quickly contacted my ever so unreliable host provider and brought it to their attention (which they seemed genuinely surprised), and they reset a couple of things and my site was back online. I wouldn't have even thought to check it that day if it wasn't for your service, so who knows how long it would have been down since my provider didn't seem to realize it either! In my opinion, the Knightguard service is an excellent tool for most companies whose Internet presence is critical.

W.S.
