KnightGuard.Net User's Guide
Alert Scheduling

24 hours a day, 7 days a week, KnightGuard.Net monitors your site. If there's a problem, two sets of alerts are sent:

E-mail to registered user - The first alert is sent to the e-mail address you used when you registered with KnightGuard.Net. This alert is sent any time there's a problem, is more verbose than the second alert, and contains useful troubleshooting information.

Pager Alerts - The second alert is sent to the Pager Address(es) associated with the URL in question. This alert is intended to go to a wireless pager, and is therefore very short - only enough to let you know there's a problem. The intention is that you be alerted immediately.

In the case of Pager alerts, we recognize that not everyone will want to be alerted in the middle of the night should there be trouble. That's why we provide Alert Scheduling for each URL. There are two parameters that allow you to schedule alerts.

Schedule - On the Edit URL page, you get the opportunity to select which hours of the day a Pager Alert will be sent, and which hours not to send alerts.

Snooze - Users may elect to "Snooze" alerts after a certain number of continuous alerts are sent. The idea is that if you already know there is a problem, perhaps you don't need to be continually alerted. For instance, you could use this seting to limit alerts to only one per hour.

NOTE: Alert messages are ALWAYS sent to the registered user's e-mail address. For this reason, we highly recommend that users do not sign up using a pager address. Pager addresses can be specified in the Edit URL section.
